The in-house manufacturing allows Pitzl to react quickly and flexibly to customers's requests. Because of snow quantities that disproportionally fell in large parts of Europe it was necessary to develop and manufacture quickly a fitted post base.

The most massive produced post base 11008.____ is available as of now rigid as well as adjustable. The optimally designed constructive form allows very high load capacities for compression up to 515 kN and also for horizontal load actions up to 18,2 kN. The tried and trusted Pitzl screw connection concept or a strut with dowel boreholes guarantee a lift-off value up to 50 kN.

Connection to wood construction with a post base

Connection to wood construction with PITZL post base 11008.2160 according to ETA-10/0413. The connection to the column of the upper plate (140 x 140 x 15 mm) is made by means of 4 full-thread screws with a diameter of 10 mm and a length of 120 mm and two dowels Ø 12,0 mm. The connection to concrete of the base plate (140 x 140 x 15 mm) is made by using 4 anchors or concrete screws with a diameter of 12,0 mm. The load-bearing capacity of the dowels or concrete screws must be verified separately.

The installation height is 160 mm. The required minimum timber dimension is 160/160 mm.

The characteristic load bearing capacity according to timber strength class C24 are:

F_1,Rk (Compression) = 376 kN Pressure load capacity in direction of wood support

F_1,Rk (Tension) = 30 kN Tension load capacity in direction of wood support

F_2/3,Rk = 10 kN Horizontal load capacity in direction of longer side of base

F_4/5,Rk = 4,5 kN Horizontal load capacity in direction of shorter side of base

By using screws Ø 10 x 160 the char. lift value can be increased to 50 kN.

The number and arrangement of the bases as well as the installation and assembly must be taken from the specifications in accordance with ETA-10/0413. Basically, the requirements of DIN EN 1995 must be fulfilled.
